Weekly Youth Update 7/29-8/3

The Homeland Park Youth will start studying the prophecies about Jesus in the Old Testament at our weekly Bible study! We will be in this study series on Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30 for the next few weeks. The study will highlight a few of the many Old Testament passages which prophesy the life and work of Jesus. My prayer is that students will understand the grand work of God through the entire Bible and see the greatness of what Jesus accomplished! Invite any family or friends to come for this study! Feel free to email me if you have any questions or comments at jason@homelandparkbc.org ! Jason

Pastor's Post For August "Plugging In"

I remember hearing a story of someone who called a computer technician in hopes of having her computer fixed.  Her chief compliant was, "When I hit the power button to turn on the computer it does nothing.  It will not turn on!"  Without missing a beat the technician asked, "Is the computer power cord plugged in?"  After a moment of silence on the line, the caller sheepishly laughed, said thank you and hung the phone up.  The point of this story is that we must be plugged in to experience and see the power of God at work in our life and the church.  There are many opportunities that I pray you will take advantage of.  I know God is calling his people to plug into what He wants for HPBC to accomplish, I just pray you will be obedient to that call. Here are a few opportunities: August 10th - Our Saluda Baptist Association E.P.I.C. conference . Remember to let you Bible Study teacher know if you are planning to attend by this sunday (July 28) September 1st

Take The Opportunity To Pray For Our Church Family

Did you know our Prayer List which is included each week in our bulletin has over 150 names on it?  We have been given an awesome privilege with a great responsibility.  They are more than just names, they are our church family.  May we be good stewards of the people God has entrusted us with and pray for them.  Get your own list Sunday, join us and plug into the power of prayer.

Weekly Youth Update- 7/15-7/21

Dear Church Family, The Homeland Park Youth will have two activities this week to fellowship and grow together as believers. Wednesday evening at 6:30, meet in the Family Life Center for Bible study. We’ll be examining the person of Christ, the work He did, and the example He set as we study Philippians 2:1-11. This should be an excellent time to learn to study the Scriptures, learn about Jesus, and worship Him through fellowship! Feel free to invite friends and family! Friday night at 7:00, Elizabeth and I will be hosting the youth at our apartment for a pizza and game night. Email me for the location and any other information for the activities that night. The youth only need to bring friends and any extra games that would want to play; the food and beverages are already provided! If you plan on coming Friday night, let me know Wednesday night or send me an email ( jason@homelandparkbc.org ). Elizabeth and I are excited to be in Homeland Park and have been extremel

May We Be An EPIC Church

Dear Church, I wanted to take a moment to encourage you to be a part of an exciting event. Our Saluda Baptist Association is hosting their annual E.P.I.C. (Equipping People In Churches) conference on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 9:00 am - 11:45 am at Covenant Baptist Church.  This FREE event provides some fantastic training for churches. Whether you are actively involved in an area of our church or simply curious about how God may want you to serve, take this time to seek His will and be encouraged by others. Light snacks will be provided as well as a children's morning camp for ages 3-5th grade. A nursery will also be offered for younger children.  Mark your calendar and plan to be a part of this training session. The Association would like an idea of how many will be attending from each church, so there will be a sign up sheet in each of our Sunday School classes.   The deadline to sign up is Sunday, July 28th. Training Topics Include: Sunday School Trai
