Youth Minister Search Team Nominates Nathan O'Neill

The youth minister search team is presenting Nathan O’Neill as the candidate for our position of Youth Minister.  Nathan is from Summerville, SC and is currently a student at Anderson University. His experiences range from leading teenagers as a camp counselor to working as a Campus Life intern at AU. Nathan has a heart for encouraging teenagers in their faith and equipping them to be a part of the church as a whole.  In everything, his prayer is that his actions and the actions of the teens that he leads will bring glory to God and God alone.  He will marry the love of his life, Jody, in June.  The timeline of events are as follows: April 3rd: Nathan and Jody will be introduced to our youth during Sunday morning at 9:30 Bible Study.  During the 10:30 worship service you will get to hear him share his testimony and vision for ministry. Following the service the church will vote on his call. April 6:  6:30 Wednesday Night Fellowship / Reception - We are asking our church to

Time To Get Rid of The Weeds

As the winter cold begins to dissipate and the warmth of the sun bring brighter days, there is no doubt that spring is here.  I love being able to look at the grass returning to its green state in my yard, however with this new growth comes weeds.  How they get there is a mystery to me, I just know I have to deal with them.  To not treat my lawn with the right chemicals will result in a yard where the weeds overrun the grass.   Weeds are a lot like sin.  Everyone wants their relationship with God to be green, lush, and rich with life.  Unfortunately, we are cursed with sin.  When we allow habits, thoughts and patterns of conduct grow in our lives that are hostile to God and go against His Word, we are in danger.  Take a moment to survey the “lawn” of your heart and ask God to show you the weeds of sin that have cropped up in your life today.  Start by praying this scripture: 23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. 24 See if there is any offensiv
Dear church, I look forward to worshipping the Resurrection of our Savior Jesus tomorrow morning together. Join me in praying for God to work in a mighty way during the presentation of "Lead Me To The Cross." Bring a heart ready for worship and a friend to share it with. God bless you and sleep well tonight because tomorrow we celebrate! In Him,  Pastor James

You Think You Had A Bad Week?

You may look back on your week and think of the trials, tasks and goals that were either met, missed, or simply endured.  As Easter approaches, take a moment and to gain some perspective.  Yes, we can have a good week or bad week, but nothing matches the week Jesus had.  Take a look at what He endured for you and I just to have a relationship with us. Sunday ( Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem) Monday ( Cleansing The Temple) Tuesday ( Controversies With Jewish Leaders) Wednesday ( Rest) Thursday ( Preparation for The Passover) Friday ( Rigged Trial and Crucifixion) Saturday ( Jesus Rests In His Tomb) Sunday ( Jesus Raises From The Dead) How does your weekly schedule look in comparison to His? Hebrews 9:28 (NLT) . . . so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. Take time this week to
