Pastor's Post for October 2014 - Guard Your Heart

Our church has just experienced a great “Revival At The Park” this week.  The running theme has been to stay honest and close to God while trusting Him enough to take chances on growing by being obedient to His word and will.  God is only finished with us when we are dead.  Our world is consumed with the notion of “What is in it for me?” when God calls us to say, “What can I do for Him?” While we have breath we are to love Him, love others and share the good news of His Son Jesus Christ. That is our mission!  That is our Purpose!  The world we live in is not our home, but while we are here, we must share His love in the way we live out our lives and speech.

As the days move forward, do not let these seeds of revival that God has planted be neglected.  We must nurture and cling to what God is doing in our lives.  Share it with those we love.  We have an adversary! Satan wants to distract and draw us away from the presence of God.  Do not let him!  Stay on your guard and encourage others as well!

[Proverbs 4:23] Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

In Him,

Pastor James

Confession, Reflection and The Lord's Supper

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. This ordinance is not for everyone.  This is only to be taken by those who are believers and accepted Jesus as their ultimate forgiver and leader.  To partake in this service in an unworthy state is sin. 1 Corinthians 11:27 (NLT) 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this...

The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection. Look for the color of the sash to change each day, reflecting the significance of the holy week. A big thank you to Sherry, Ann and Jimmy for making this beautiful cross possible! To God Be The Glory!

Children's Church

The children will be dismissed during the morning worship service when the choir comes down from the choir loft. Phyllis Swaney, our Children’s Church Leader, will stand by the piano for the children.
