no TRUNKs just TREATs

Friday October, 29 6:30-7:30 PM In the Family Life Center (GYM) Church Family and Community - Bring your children and join us for our annual no Trunks just Treats event. Instead of using the trunks of our cars this year, we will have tables in the Family Life Center (Gym) filled with candy and games. The tables will be appropriately spaced apart for safety. For Those Wishing to Participate: Dressing up and decorating your table is not a requirement to participate, but is always appreciated. As you can imagine, there is a large demand for candy as well. If you cannot attend but would like to donate candy, please bring it to the HPBC Bible Study Office when you come to church or drop it off at the church office from Monday through Thursday - 8 AM until 12 PM.

Pastor's Post

Pastor's Post “A Prayer for  Vacation Bible School 2021” Vacation Bible School is approaching very quickly on July 26th-29th! I am excited to not only see those who normally help continuing but new volunteers stepping up too. The future of HPBC looks bright as new leadership emerges. Vacation Bible School is one of the biggest outreaches we do, so expect the devil to work against it.  Here are three specific areas to pray for as we prepare: 1. Pray for the children attending VBS, that their hearts will be changed as they hear the gospel throughout the week. 2. Pray for our VBS volunteers as they faithfully and enthusiastically lead the kids each night. 3. Pray that, as a church, we will build relationships with the families that attend VBS for the purpose of sharing the gospel and partnering with them in discipleship.   I look forward to seeing God work in a mighty way this summer. We covet your prayers and support!   Pastor James

Trunk Or Treat

Friday, October 30 * 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM * In the FLC Each year our church invites families from our community to stop by for some friendly faces and candy for the kids and boy do they respond. In light of the current pandemic and weather considerations, this year we are replacing the trunks of our cars for tables in the Family Life Center (Gym). The tables will be appropriately spaced apart for children to walk through and get some candy. We also are highly encouraging the wearing of face masks and will have some available on site as well.   For Those Wishing To Participate:   Dressing up and decorating your table is not a requirement to participate, but is always appreciated. As you can imagine, there is a large demand for candy as well. If you cannot attend but would like to donate candy, please bring it to the HPBC Bible Study Office when you come to church.

Pastor's Post for October

PASTOR’S POST Let Us Run The Race Together  “ . . .  let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 Dear Church Family,   I want to thank you all for standing strong and working together during the past 10 months. Little did we know how God would change the landscape of the way we worship and teach us how to serve Him in new ways. Whether you worshipped online, in your car or in a pew, God has brought us all to a greater understanding and appreciation of who He is. Many could not and still cannot attend church due to their health or physical limitation, however their prayers, support and encouragement have been vital in these days. The church is the body of believers, not the building and HPBC has thrived in the midst of this pandemic.   The Covid-19 Coronavirus will not totally go away anytime soon, however it has slowed down. In these days God has laid it on the heart of our leadership and myself to m...

What Is The Tide Pod Challenge and Why Are Teens Doing It?

HPBC Youth Corner With each new year comes new challenges and new surprises. A challenge that has certainly come as a surprise in the past few weeks is the emergence of the Tide Pod challenge. For those who may not have heard of it, the “challenge” is to eat the colorful Tide detergent pods as if they were candy. For the majority of the population, the risks and dangers of such a “challenge” are clear and we avoid the health risks involved. This begs the question then, why is this challenge catching on, especially with teenagers? As society becomes more and more connected, we’re learning the consequences of being able to instantly push content out to the entire world. This connectedness in combination with a deep seated desire for confirmation creates situations where people will do just about anything for attention. We’ve seen this before with the gallon challenge, the cinnamon challenge, and many other forms; the Tide Pod “challenge” isn’t the first of these fads, and it cert...

HPBC Youth Corner

HPBC Youth Corner On behalf of the youth of HPBC, I want to thank everyone for the hospitality you all have shown this summer to our youth. From the summer fun events in July to the past month of exploring the God's Not Dead 2 together in the FLC, I loved seeing our youth and adult classes interacting and I hope that there will be more opportunities for our youth to grow with the congregation in the future. As we head back into the school year, we'll be picking up our series going through the book of Exodus. Please pray for our students in this time as they return to school and that they will be examples for Christ in their classes. Nathan O’Neill, Youth Pastor
