What Is Repentance?

Life Question: What is the difference between confessing our sins and repenting from them? We will be studying repentance on Wednesday night at 6:30. Hope to see you there.

Weekly Youth Update: 4/29-5/5

Last week in our Wednesday night Bible study, we studied the end of Colossians 1. Among other points, we saw Paul’s care for the Colossians which allowed us to see how following Christ may lead to suffering and persecution as we proclaim God’s great name. This week, we will continue by studying the beginning of Colossians 2. Join us for this great time of fellowship and growing closer to God! Bible study is from 6:30-7:30 Wednesday night and the Family Life Center opens at 6:00 for anyone wanting to hang out! Our youth beach retreat is coming up soon! We are heading to Wilmington, North Carolina, for a weekend of fellowship, fun, learning, and relaxation! If you would like to attend, please send me an email soon so I can let you know about the requirements to attend. Our next parent/student meeting is May 14 at 6:00 pm . Important information about the retreat is below: Youth Beach Retreat June 26-29 $105 ($40 non-refundable deposit May 28) Pine Valley Baptist Church

National Day of Prayer Service, Thursday May 1st

The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture. The National Day of Prayer has great significance for us as a nation as it enables us to recall and to teach the way in which our founding fathers sought the wisdom of God when faced with critical decisions. It stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. The unanimous passage of the bill establishing the National Day of Prayer as an annual event, signifies that prayer is as important to our nation today as it was in the beginning. We will be joining Christians around the world by gathering on the front steps of our sanctuary on Thursday, May 1st @ Noon  for prayer over our nation as one voice united. "Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear f

Weekly Youth Update: 4/14 - 4/20

Last week, we started our Colossians Bible study.  We learned in Colossians 1:1-14 of Paul’s encouragement to the church in Colossae to remember the hope they have in Jesus, God’s will for them, and Jesus’ saving work of them. This week, we will continue our study in Colossians 1:13-23. This passage will be helpful as we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus to forgive sinners and reconcile man to God! Our Wednesday Bible study will begin at 6:30 and last until 7:30. We hope to see you there! Wednesday evening at 6:00, before our Bible study, we have our first parent/student meeting for the Wilmington Beach Retreat! We will be discussing the price, rules, schedule, and purpose of the trip. If you are planning on attending the retreat, you must be at this meeting. If you have a previously scheduled commitment, please send me an email to let me know! Weekly Youth Update: 4/7 - 4/13

The Homeland Park youth just finished an awesome week! Our friend, Brock Bass, shared his personal testimony and taught from Matthew 7:21-23. He really challenged our students to examine their lives and hearts to determine if they have trusted in Jesus and His work alone for salvation or if they are seeking to earn salvation through good works. We are really seeing God starting to mold and transform hearts! On Saturday, we had our hike to Station Cove Falls! Some of our students saw their very first waterfall and all of us were able to better understand God’s magnificent power in creation! We are gathering some pictures from the event and I’ll post them as soon as possible! This week, we will begin our Wednesday night study of Colossians. We will study Colossians 1:1-14 and some of the background around the writing of the letter. The Family Life Center will open at 6:00 for anyone wanting to hang out and Bible study will last from 6:30-7:30. We hope to see you there! Fin

Weekly Youth Update: 3/31 - 4/6

Last week, we had the finale for our “March Madness” event with Varennes Heights Baptist Church. We experienced an awesome time with their youth in fellowship, playing basketball, and learning more about what Jesus has done for us! These events are great opportunities for us to enjoy time with other believers in our community! Wednesday night, April 2, our friend Brock Bass will be teaching the youth during our normal Bible study time, from 6:30-7:30! Brock is a faithful servant and a great example of one who loves the Lord and desires to see lost people come to salvation. We hope that you will join us for this time as he shares with us the truths of Scripture and reflects on what the Lord has done in his life. The Family Life Center opens at 6:00 for anyone wanting to hang out and we hope that you will invite family and friends to come! This Saturday, April 5, the youth will go on a hike to the Oconee Station State Historic Site to see Station Cove Falls! We will meet and
