Weekly Youth Update: 7/28-8/3

The Homeland Park youth had an amazing time at Greenville Pickens Speedway Saturday night! From the exciting racing to the tons of laughs we shared, we had a great bonding experience and continued to deepen our relationships with one another. Our prayer, that we ask you to pray with us, is that God will continue to use events like this and others to build us more into the image of His Son and provide opportunities for us to share the Gospel with new students who come! This Wednesday evening, July 30, we will have our youth movie night in the Family Life Center from 6:00-8:30! Come upstairs into the youth room and enjoy our movie, snacks, and fellowship as we relax and hang out! Next Wednesday night, August 6, we will have our normal Bible study from 6:30-7:30. In two weeks, Wednesday, August 13, the youth will head to Cookout for milkshakes during our normal youth time. Finally, our Fall Out of Summer Spectacular is Sunday, August 24, from 5:00-7:00! This is a block pa

Determined Sermon Series Begins Today

Determined is defined as “having made a firm decision and being resolved not to change it.” Nehemiah is a man of faith that was moved by his love for God and His people to do something amazing! God gave him the calling to rebuild Jerusalem. What a daunting task for one man. There were plenty of people telling him that it could not be done. When God gives us a vision for serving Him, you can rest assured there will be critics, naysayers, accusers and obstacles. Sometimes our determination waivers and fails. Our words sound strong but our hearts are set on serving in our own strength. God gives us unfathomable tasks, in order to draw us to depend upon Him. Thomas Edison conducted two thousand experiments before he invented the correct filament needed to invent the first light bulb. When asked how it felt to fail so many times, Edison replied, “I never failed once, inventing the light bulb just happened to be a two-thousand step process.” Determination turns our fail
