Mission:Dignity Sunday

MISSION:DIGNITY SUNDAY June 23 They were there to lead you to Christ. They were there to pray with and for you. They were there as the hands and feet of Christ in your life. NOW, THEY NEED YOUR HELP. Since 1918, GuideStone Financial Resources has been on a “Mission” to provide “Dignity” to retired Southern Baptist ministers, workers and their widows. These are men and women who have faithfully served God’s people and now find themselves struggling to meet even basic needs. Many served small, rural churches that paid only modest salaries and couldn’t afford to contribute to their pastors’ retirement. Often, these loyal soldiers of the cross had to work extra jobs just to make ends meet. Mission:Dignity currently helps almost 1,800 people with extra money needed for housing, food and vital medications. It has also ensured a well-deserved dignity, independence and, often, the ability to continue serving. https://www.missiondignity.org/

Pastor's Post for June

As summer arrives, we all must take precautions to stay hydrated. Yes, we must drink a lot of water because in hotter months our body loses water through sweat. Other times we may be in the yard working or at the beach with a nice breeze blowing and not realize we need water. Symptoms of dehydration include dizziness, headaches, fatigue, dry mouth, inability to pass water and in some cases the inability to talk. We can live weeks without food but only days without water. On this note, I was reminded of another type of living water that is just as crucial to our spiritual life. Jesus calls it "living water" which He uses to refer to the Holy Spirit. Take a moment to read His words here: (John 7:37-39 NLT) On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.” Notice appeal
