Christmas Caroling and Chili Cookoff This Sunday


Join us again this year for a time of spreading Christmas cheer to our church members who are homebound and in nursing homes. They need to be reminded at Christmas that God loves them and so does their church. 

 We need everyone to meet at the church on Sunday, December 14th at 4:00 PM. We will use the bus, van and other vehicles to split into caroling groups. You do not have to be a singer to do this, you just need to be willing to spread God’s love to those who need it. 


After caroling, we will all meet at the Family Life Center at 6:00 PM for a Chili Cook-Off. We are asking our members to bring their special chili dishes to be judged for the title of “Best Christmas Chili”. If you do not cook chili then bring some desserts or cornbread. HPBC will furnish the drinks and fixings.

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection.
