July Is Full of Opportunities


I have a question for you. How are you approaching the month of July? Is July a time of relaxation and getting away to spend with family, busy schedules, or is just another month on your calendar? I believe that July is a month of opportunities for us as individuals and as a church family. During July we will undertake one of the greatest tools to share the gospel that we have.  That tool is Vacation Bible School. I have been so encouraged to see our leaders prepare for this special week. Over the years God has blessed our church with precious children who come hungry to hear the message of Jesus Christ. I must say that makes my heart swell with hope and anticipation for what God will do.
Also, during the month of July our church makes a special effort to encourage our church family as well. These events are not just for our people but for them to invite others to our family because a family that doesn’t grow, dies.  If you look at our Summer Nights Alive Praise schedule, you will see opportunities for fellowship and to share the gospel in exciting ways! You could invite someone to our movie night to see the blockbuster hit, “I Can Only Imagine” based off the true story of Bart Millard who is the lead singer for Mercy Me. This movie has received rave reviews from church and secular sources alike. This story of God's grace, favor, and redemption is something that everyone needs to see! I pray you have a great summer and that God would use you and the church for His Glory.

Confession, Reflection and The Lord's Supper

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. Pastor's Post: Worshiping Expectantly (Genesis 4:26)

I am so excited to be meeting in person on Sunday after only meeting virtually for the past two weeks on facebook live. I ran across this thought the other day. Moses wrote in Genesis about creation this gem: Genesis 4:26 NLT When Seth grew up, he had a son and named him Enosh. At that time people first began to worship the Lord by name. This is the first time since creation and the fall of man where worship was recorded as happening.  This is the “genesis” of how and why we worship today.  We do not worship an unnamed impersonal God.  We worship “Yahweh” (“I Am”)!  He is our creator, Heavenly father.  Worship is not an obligation, it is a privilege!   A True Disciple Pastor’s Post for November 2024 Newsletter Oswald Chambers in his devotional entitled, My Utmost for His Highest writes, "A true disciple is one who has his new name written all over himself-interest, pride, and self-sufficiency have been completely erased."
