Weekly Youth Update: 11/25-12/01

We have experienced an amazing few months in the life of our church and what God is doing in our youth ministry. God is changing the lives of students and adults as the Bible and Gospel are preached and we could not be more excited for what He will continue to do as we look forward into 2014!

This past week, we discussed how we adjust to normal life after experiencing an amazing weekend away at the retreat. Sunday night, we praised God for His work in our church as the congregation listened to a retreat update with student testimonies! A blog post will be coming soon giving a detailed review of the ENGAGE weekend!

We will not be having Wednesday night services this week, including youth Bible study, as families prepare for Thanksgiving. Our regular Wednesday night schedule will continue December 4. Let’s use this time to remember and give thanks for the many gifts we have received from God, none greater than His Son’s life, death, and resurrection to secure us eternal life with God!

Thank you for all the prayers and loving support since we arrived in July. God has truly blessed us with an amazing church!

Confession, Reflection and The Lord's Supper

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it. Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday. This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion . The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us. His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins. Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. This ordinance is not for everyone. This is only to be taken by those who are believers and accepted Jesus as their ultimate forgiver and leader. The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection.
