Weekly Youth Update: 7/28-8/3

The Homeland Park youth had an amazing time at Greenville Pickens Speedway Saturday night! From the exciting racing to the tons of laughs we shared, we had a great bonding experience and continued to deepen our relationships with one another. Our prayer, that we ask you to pray with us, is that God will continue to use events like this and others to build us more into the image of His Son and provide opportunities for us to share the Gospel with new students who come!

This Wednesday evening, July 30, we will have our youth movie night in the Family Life Center from 6:00-8:30! Come upstairs into the youth room and enjoy our movie, snacks, and fellowship as we relax and hang out!

Next Wednesday night, August 6, we will have our normal Bible study from 6:30-7:30. In two weeks, Wednesday, August 13, the youth will head to Cookout for milkshakes during our normal youth time.

Finally, our Fall Out of Summer Spectacular is Sunday, August 24, from 5:00-7:00! This is a block party we host on the church property where we have games, the blowup slide and bounce house, snow cones, and food among other great things! Last year, God used this event to help us meet and build relationships with many of those who were involved in the youth ministry this year. We are praying that God will use it in the same way this year, so that we may proclaim the Gospel and His goodness to new people and see salvation spread through Homeland Park!

Confession, Reflection and The Lord's Supper

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. This ordinance is not for everyone.  This is only to be taken by those who are believers and accepted Jesus as their ultimate forgiver and leader.  To partake in this service in an unworthy state is sin. 1 Corinthians 11:27 (NLT) 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this...

The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection. Look for the color of the sash to change each day, reflecting the significance of the holy week. A big thank you to Sherry, Ann and Jimmy for making this beautiful cross possible! To God Be The Glory!

Children's Church

The children will be dismissed during the morning worship service when the choir comes down from the choir loft. Phyllis Swaney, our Children’s Church Leader, will stand by the piano for the children.
