Mission Action for May 2015

Our Mission Action Project for the month of May is for Mercy Center at 2408 South Main Street. The Mercy Center helps people who are homeless and poverty stricken.

They can use any of the following: Bottled Water, Pop-Top Food Items, Coffee, Sugar, Creamer, Bathroom Tissue, Kleenex, Paper Towels, Paper Plates, Paper Cups, Napkins, Diapers (All Sizes), Copy Paper (For Office Use), Scissors, Pens, Paper Clips and White-Out.

The emphasis for Operation Christmas Child for this month is: Washcloths, Bars of Soap and Combs.

Please leave any of the above in the Bible Study Office.

This offering goes to the South Carolina Baptist Ministries for the Aging. Envelopes are in the pews.


The WMU will be cutting Soup Labels at the May meeting. Please make an extra special effort to be there to help. Please bring scissors and scotch tape with you. Thanks.

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us.
