Weekly Youth Update: 1/20-1/26

Last week we had a fantastic discussion about evil, suffering, and the hope the Gospel provides. This Wednesday night, we will finish this discussion with a more expanded look at the hope that Jesus provides through His life, death, and resurrection. The Family Life Center will open at 6:00. Bible study begins at 6:30 and finishes by 7:30. Invite family and friends and we are excited to see you there!

Wednesday evening, January 29, we have a parent/student meeting for the youth starting at 6:00. The meeting should last about twenty minutes as we update what’s happening in the ministry and upcoming events. Bible study will start and finish at the normal times that night.

Finally, Friday evening, January 31, we will be going bowling at Boulevard Lanes in Anderson! We will meet and leave from the church at 6:30 and arrive back around 9:00. Please bring $5 for your shoes and games as well as any extra cash if you want snacks as dinner will not be provided. If you are planning on going, please send me an email so I can plan accordingly.

Feel free to send me an email at jason@homelandparkbc.org if you have any questions!

Confession, Reflection and The Lord's Supper

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. This ordinance is not for everyone.  This is only to be taken by those who are believers and accepted Jesus as their ultimate forgiver and leader.  To partake in this service in an unworthy state is sin. 1 Corinthians 11:27 (NLT) 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this...

Children's Church

Beginning Sunday, September 18th, there will be Children’s Church for children ages four years   through 5th grade. The children will be dismissed during the morning worship service when the choir comes down from the choir loft. Phyllis Swaney, our Children’s Church Leader, will stand by the piano for the children.

The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection. Look for the color of the sash to change each day, reflecting the significance of the holy week. A big thank you to Sherry, Ann and Jimmy for making this beautiful cross possible! To God Be The Glory!
