Pastor's Post for March

Dear Church,

Warmer days are ahead!  The first official day of Spring will be Thursday, March 20, 2014. Also, we will have to turn our clocks ahead one hour when we go to bed on March 8th to observe Daylight Saving's Time for March 9th, 2014.  With spring being on the horizon, it gives us that little extra excitement to go outside more, open the windows of our houses, stay out a little later and appreciate the wonders of God's creation.  Spring can also be a time of new beginnings.  Will you be more mobile when it gets warmer? Will it be easier for you to come to worship with your church family? I pray the answer to both is yes.

We have been talking about the power of the gospel in our lives on Sunday nights.  I have shared aspects of the gospel message and tools for sharing it.  As you make changes this spring to be more active, please decide to be more active in God's purpose of sharing the gospel.

What Is The Gospel?
The Gospel is the good news story of Jesus who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, took our sins upon himself on the cross and rose from the dead so that we may be born again and receive eternal life with God. [1 Corinthians 15:1-4 / John 3:16]

What Tools May I Use?

  • Invite someone to church
  • Share Your Testimony (One Minute Per Section)
    • Your life before Christ.
    • How You Met Him.
    • How Your Life Is Different.
  • Use Verses Like The Roman's Road
Spring into action and share with others. Share what Christ has done for you!  I look forward to us all worshiping again soon and hearing how God is working in your lives.

In Him,

Pastor James

Confession, Reflection and The Lord's Supper

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. This ordinance is not for everyone.  This is only to be taken by those who are believers and accepted Jesus as their ultimate forgiver and leader.  To partake in this service in an unworthy state is sin. 1 Corinthians 11:27 (NLT) 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of s

Our leadership team is charting an exciting course for the future, ensuring our mission continues for generations to come. But we need you! No matter your skills or experience, your contribution matters. We have diverse opportunities, big and small, where you can use your unique talents to serve God and make a tangible impact. Whether it's helping families in need, supporting outreach programs, or simply welcoming newcomers, your involvement matters. Together, let's step into this new chapter with faith and dedication. Let'

The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection. Look for the color of the sash to change each day, reflecting the significance of the holy week. A big thank you to Sherry, Ann and Jimmy for making this beautiful cross possible! To God Be The Glory!
