Weekly Youth Update: 4/21 - 4/27


We are continuing to roll along through this spring semester as we approach the beginning of summer! Last we Wednesday night, we studied Colossians 1:13-23 and learned of the incomparable glory of Jesus and what He has done for us! Tonight, we will continue our study in Colossians 1:24-2:5. Bible study lasts from 6:30-7:30 and the Family Life Center opens at 6:00 for anyone wanting to hang out!

Our youth beach retreat is June 26-29 at Pine Valley Baptist Church in Wilmington, North Carolina. If you want to enjoy the ocean waves, the cool ocean breeze, and a wonderful time of fellowship, join us for our retreat where we will have a great time of Bible study, fellowship, serving, and hanging out!

This Saturday, the men of Homeland Park Baptist Church are gathering for a breakfast fellowship from 9am – 10 am in the Family Life Center. We would love to see our youth guys attend and experience great community with the other men of the church as we grow closer to the Lord together!

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection.
