WORSHIP PRAYER TEAM

God has made it clear to me and our church leadership that we need to place a renewed emphasis on prayer.  While we have a few that are attending our various Sunday morning and Monday evening prayer times, we need more!  We need more people praying, seeking God’s face, asking for His Spirit to move and intercession for others.  We need prayer warriors!

Sunday, January 15th we will begin our Worship Prayer Team!

We need people to sign up to pray during our Sunday morning and evening services.  The Worship Prayer Team will pray for the worship team, pastor, deacons, and the hearts of those who listen to the sermon.  We need to pray protection over our church.  We need people to lift up the names on our prayer list.

How Will It Work?

We will have a signup sheet on the hallway bulletin board for those wanting to participate or you can email Pastor James [pastorjames@homelandparkbc.org].  When the worship service starts the prayer team will begin praying in the Pastor’s Study through a list of requests. You can do this by yourself or have someone pray with you.  Choir members can pray after they sing. We will take the names of those who sign up for this prayer team and spread them over a monthly cycle.  You can sign up to pray as much or little as you like. Help us pray HPBC into a new era of ministry!

In Him,

Pastor James

Confession, Reflection and The Lord's Supper

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. This ordinance is not for everyone.  This is only to be taken by those who are believers and accepted Jesus as their ultimate forgiver and leader.  To partake in this service in an unworthy state is sin. 1 Corinthians 11:27 (NLT) 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this...

Children's Church

Beginning Sunday, September 18th, there will be Children’s Church for children ages four years   through 5th grade. The children will be dismissed during the morning worship service when the choir comes down from the choir loft. Phyllis Swaney, our Children’s Church Leader, will stand by the piano for the children.

The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection. Look for the color of the sash to change each day, reflecting the significance of the holy week. A big thank you to Sherry, Ann and Jimmy for making this beautiful cross possible! To God Be The Glory!
