Weekly Youth Update: 3/16-3/22

Last week, the Homeland Park youth had an awesome time together discussing Psalm 51:1-6 as a start to our short series through Psalm 51. The students learned more about the nature of sin, every person’s desperate need for Christ, and how to follow Him as Savior and Lord. This week, we will be continuing our discussion through the passage and we hope to see you there! Bible study lasts on Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30 and students wanting to hang out before may arrive to the Family Life Center at 6:00!

Saturday, April 4, is our 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament! We are partnering with Greater Love Bible Church to host the tournament and to minister to the community.

The tournament will be from 8 am – 4 pm that Saturday. You must be between ages 12-17 and must register your teams on Friday, April 3, to be eligible to play. Registration will be from 5 pm – 6:30 pm on Friday, April 3. To register to play, you must show a report card with either a school ID or driver’s license.

If you are an adult in our church and wondering how you can get involved, please let me know. Whether greeting visitors at the event, preparing the food, or just meeting and getting to know people in our community, we would love for you to be involved! If you are interested, please send me an email at jason@homelandparkbc.org!

We are excited at what God is doing in our church and the new opportunities we have to minister to the teens and families of the community! If you have any questions about the youth ministry, basketball tournament, serving, or anything else, please email at jason@homelandparkbc.org!

Confession, Reflection and The Lord's Supper

Yesterday, our church observed the ordinance of the Lord''s Supper or Communion as some call it.  Our church is blessed to have a committee that prepares this for us on every fifth Sunday.  This practice is designed to take us back in our hearts and minds to that dreadful night where Jesus sat at a table with His disciples to prepare them for His pending crucifixion .   The purpose of the Lord's Supper is not for us to go through the motions, but to remember all that Christ did for us.  His body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Communion is a time to reflect, appreciate and give honor to Jesus for what He endured for us. This ordinance is not for everyone.  This is only to be taken by those who are believers and accepted Jesus as their ultimate forgiver and leader.  To partake in this service in an unworthy state is sin. 1 Corinthians 11:27 (NLT) 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of s

The Wondrous Cross

Attention all! As you drive by or visit our church, take a moment to admire the beautiful cross located to the right of our main entrance. This Easter season, we'll be using this cross to commemorate the special days leading up to Jesus' glorious resurrection. Look for the color of the sash to change each day, reflecting the significance of the holy week. A big thank you to Sherry, Ann and Jimmy for making this beautiful cross possible! To God Be The Glory!
